News: First Female Evangelist
Forty-year old Abebech has the distinction of being the first female evangelist to be adopted through Ezra Rural Ministry's Adopt an Evangelist program. Americans Steve and Salle Banning are pleased to begin supporting this fine Christian wife and mother of five as she works full-time in Ethiopia coordinating women's ministry in her village.
Abebech was raised in a rural farming family, a family dedicated to Christ. Growing up, she was encouraged to give her life to the Savior and to serve the church. Over the years, Abebech has been involved in several ministries, but she has been especially used by God to evangelize women and to inspire her sisters in Christ to spread the Gospel in their neighborhoods.
Abebech's husband is an elementary school teacher and elder in their village church. Three of their children sing in the choir. Together, this Ethiopian family serves as an example of Christian dedication to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
