Ruth is one of two books in the bible named after a woman. Events in the book took place “In the days when the judges ruled…” (1:1)
Studying the book of Ruth is like developing a picture from a negative. The outcome will be a beautiful picture containing the following details:
-Ruth (means friend) – She is a type of the new covenant church and Christ’s people.
-Boaz is a type of Christ. (Kinsman redeemer)
-Moab is a type of sin and this evil world.
-Elimelech is a type of Old Testament Israel who made the wrong choices and was rejected.
-Naomi is a type of Old covenant Israel.
-Mahlon is a type of Christian’s old self.
-Boaz and Ruth’s wedding is a type of marriage supper with Christ.
And so on …..so beautiful!!!
