Ezra Rural Ministry was born out of the shared vision of an impoverished evangelist in Ethiopia and a missionary pastor in the United States. The vision was simple - train Ethiopian evangelists, pastors, and teachers how to evangelize fellow Ethiopians in their own rural villages. Christians in the United States could share in the work by financially supporting Ezra Rural Ministry Training Center, its staff, and the most worthy of graduating students and their families. In 2005, this vision became a reality.

Many of the Ethiopian students who have since received training at Ezra Rural Ministry Training Center had already proven their worth as ministers of the gospel by making the decision to forsake more lucrative work in the larger urban areas and to start churches in their own villages amongst the poorest of the poor. This decision has meant that they must make sacrifices as they struggle to adequately provide for their own families. Some have turned from the Orthodox and Muslim religions to embrace Christ, facing persecution by parents and siblings, and losing the traditional Ethiopian support of the family structure.

To assist Ezra Rural Ministry Training Center in its work and to provide some relief to individual students, Christians in the United States are working together to provide the financial support that rural Ethiopian churches are, simply, not able to give.

Now, you are being invited to join in this ministry to financially support Ezra Rural Ministry so that Ethiopians may continue evangelizing Ethiopians.
